For about 30 minutes this morning, the sky was pelting Solana "Beach" with hail. It was a spectacle to see, hear and fortunately record. A couple of hours later, the sky was blue and the street was dry. //photo: Nelson

Face it, skateboarding was a lot more fun in the early nineties. The focus was less about what fashion uniform you had, but more about friends having fun skateboarding together. Axion Footwear was started back in those days, but disappeared all-to-soon. A few years ago I got the opportunity to be a part of bringing back the resurrected footwear brand and it's been...... umm, fun.

Tradeshows were a lot more fun back then too - one of a handful of good reasons why that landscape is being shaken up today. How many times have you heard people bitching and moaning about "having to work the booth"? To prevent this pervasive tragedy from happening at their own booth at the upcoming Agenda Tradeshow, Axion devised a way of injecting a little needed fun-factor. What better way to do this but BEER PONG! The execution was good and the outcome was better than we expected - actually sad in a sense. The Axion booth was literally the only booth that seem to be having much fun at all, and there were over 100 exhibitors. A few media companies dropped in to capture some of the energy, in addition to an ongoing flow of curious people that happened to be in an ear shot of the ruckus.

There are too many choices today, making it much harder to have those moments of pure wonder and amazement. What you have is what you got and if you don't have it, then make it. Get amazed.
